About cadavre exquis
From October 2008 until August 2009 the intercultural and international film experiment across the European neighbouring countries France, Germany and Spain will take place. The participating organisations are the Club Recherche et Loisirs in the tenth district of Paris (CRL 10), the Medienwerkstatt Leipzig and Asosiación Biluts in Bilbao.
The goals of the project “Cadavre Exquis” include the encouragement of intercultural encounters and the discourse about the art form “film” between the participating youngsters. The main characteristic of the experiment is the filming without exactly knowing the previously recorded content. Only the last seconds of the previous content are known by the film crews that form the basis for continuing the story of the film. According to this the project team of each city will write, film and edit a film sequence finally resulting in a new type of a collectively produced film.
Three short stories will be put together resulting in a coherent film. The specific contents of these short stories evolve during the project itself and therefore no further details concerning the content can be stated. Actors form the bridge between the three short films that will be based on a plot each written in cooperation with a dramatic advisor. Each part of the whole film production will be organised, designed and realised by the teams of each city. The involved countries all wish to encourage young people with an interest in film making and professional film makers to work together and to inspire each other. Therefore, while working on the film the professionals of camera, audio, and lighting will advise and support the participants. The film will be released without subtitles or synchronisation.

The opening festivities of Cadavre Exquis will be held in Paris, Leipzig and Bilbao.
